September 14, 2010

Hello peeps and geeks!

I’m so excited that today is the day I finally get to send you to new White Sea music!  It may not be the release of my own record, but it is indeed music I am very proud of.

First up on deck is the White Sea remix of SVIIB’s “Dust Devil” from their new EP “Heart Is Strange”.  If you fancy the song, I highly suggest picking up the whole EP here…

SVIIB-White Sea Remix
August 17, 2010

I had the pleasure of doing a remix for my friends School of Seven Bells recently (Benjamin, Alejandra and Claudia), and I just wanted to share with you the details of their next single, “Heart is Strange”.  If you haven’t picked this album up, seriously, just get it.  In fact, do yourself a huge favor and pick up their first release as well, Alpinisms.

I met SVIIB on tour with M83 and have since deeply respected their work.  I’m super excited to have been a part of their newest release which includes remixes from Pantha Du Prince and Phantogram, both incredible in their own right! (Eyelid Movies was in heavy rotation when I first got my hands on it).  Anyways, the release date hasn’t been announced yet, but stay tuned as this is the first official White Sea remix!

Musings
August 2, 2010

One of my dearest friends Jonathan Bates (of the band Mellowdrone) and I, have frequent chats about music, our fave gossip site (spoiler alert: D-LISTED!!!), our mutual love of cats, etc., but only recently started making music together.  I had the fortune of meeting him when I was on tour with M83 (he came on board to play guitar with us when we opened for the Killers) and since then, we have become fast friends.  Jonathan’s most recent project, Big Black Delta, the reason for this post, is just amazing and I’m excited to share it with you.

Jonathan is releasing one free song at a time, and I promise you, you will not be disappointed.  I had the pleasure of singing on the most recent release, Dreary Moon…  Links and such below.
